Shobhana Radhakrishna: Gandhi Lecture |
Having the fortune of spending a part of her life in Gandhiji’s Sevagram Ashram, Wardha in India, Shobhana Radhakrishna is on a mission to spread the socially relevant messages of Mahatma Gandhi on peace, non-violence, satyagraha, universal brotherhood, unity and harmony to every corner of the world, which she present in the form of short lectures. Gandhiji’s life was one of dedication and simplicity, and he valued ahimsa and truth as the guiding principles of his life. Like Sant Kabir, Gandhiji also followed the inner voice that guided him throughout his life and could justifiably say to the world that ‘My Life is My Message’.

Shobhana Radhakrishna has studied in the ‘Nai Taleem’- basic education school of Mahatma Gandhi in the Ashram and completed her Masters in Fine Arts. With the background of having lived in Gandhiji’s Ashram and dedicating her life to the cause of serving the poor and the underprivileged for over three decades as part of the Gandhian movement in India, she is currently propagating the messages of Mahatma Gandhi through presentations and lectures under the guidance of Shri Narayanbhai Desai (son of Shri Mahadev Desai who was the secretary of Gandhiji for 25 years). |

This presentation traces the evolution of a true satyagrahi through different stages of introspection, self-examination and self-purification gives an insight into the Mahatma’s life that may not be found in books but is known only to people close to him.

This presentation in English/Hindi covers aspects about Gandhi - the man, his roots, my understanding about Gandhi, life in the Sevagram Ashram, Gandhi's three gifts to India- Satyagraha, Ekadasha Vrata, Constructive programmes, ends and means and the options he has left for us to work on in the present and steps for the future. Duration of this presentation is from 2-3 hours. |
